What’s Changing?
Google is rolling out a significant update to Workspace, integrating powerful new AI capabilities into Business Starter and Business Standard plans. These changes are designed to help your team work more efficiently, enhance collaboration, and stay secure – with no separate AI add-ons required.
To reflect the enhanced value of these plans, Google is updating the pricing for all subscriptions. Here’s what you need to know:
New Pricing Beginning in May 2025
Business Starter
- AU$9.90 per user/month (annual billing ex. GST)
- AU$11.80 per user/month (monthly billing ex. GST)
Business Standard
- AU$19.90 per user/month (annual billing ex. GST)
- AU$23.60 per user/month (monthly billing ex. GST)
These new rates came into effect for new customers from March 17, 2025, and for existing subscriptions between now and July 14, 2025 (at your next renewal or billing date for annual/fixed-term plans).
What New Features Are Included?
All Workspace Business Starter and Business Standard customers will now enjoy these latest Google AI tools, improving productivity and communication across your organisation:
- Gemini AI in Gmail: Quickly draft professional emails, summarise long email threads, and compose replies with AI support.
- Gemini AI App: Chat with Google’s Gemini app for brainstorming, research, coding, and data analysis support.
- NotebookLM: Upload documents, PDFs, and more to get instant AI-generated insights and audio overviews.
Business Standard customers receive even greater capabilities:
- Gemini in Gmail: Summarise long threads, draft and refine emails quickly.
- Gemini in Docs: Generate, rewrite, and polish document content; brainstorm ideas.
- Gemini in Sheets: Instantly generate charts, visualise data, and get insights.
- Gemini in Meet: AI-powered note-taking (“Take notes for me”), translation and transcription, meeting summaries.
- Gemini in Chat: Summarise conversations and translate messages.
- Gemini in Vids: Tell engaging stories at work with AI-powered video creation.
- NotebookLM Plus: Upload documents, websites, PDFs, and more to get instant insights and AI-generated audio overviews.
- Create custom AI assistants (“Gems”): Build AI workflows for repetitive or complex tasks (exclusive to Standard and above).
- Calendar Appointment Booking: Organise team schedules and let others book meetings directly with your team.
- eSignature in Docs: Sign PDFs and documents directly within Google Docs.
- Mail merge and custom email layouts: Design and send personalised, visually engaging email campaigns through Gmail.
Business Standard customers also receive increased pooled storage with 2TB per user shared across your organisation.
What Does This Mean for You?
- No Immediate Action Required: The updated features and pricing will be applied automatically as Google rolls out the changes to your account. You’ll receive at least 30 days’ notice from Dash.Marketing before any change is applied.
- Personalised Guidance: We’ll reach out individually when your account’s update is scheduled. Our team will assist you in reviewing your options and ensuring you’re on the right plan.
- No More Gemini Add-on Charges: All AI features previously available via Gemini add-ons are now included—at no extra fee.
